What Is a RSS Feed, and What Do You Do with It?by Ann-Merai FetzerYou probably have heard the term "RSS feed," but what is it exactly and why do you need one, especially if you're an Internet marketer? And, what can you do with it? In fact, an RSS feed (which usually stands for "Really Simple Syndication" feed, although sometimes it can stand for "Rich Site Summary" feed) can be a great way to publicize your services so the people have a much easier time finding you. Usually, creating one is as simple as filling out some information on an online form you then submit. Take some time to really find out what an RSS-feed can do for you so that you can use it to its best advantage -- and to yours. Once you know what it can do, you'll know just how valuable it is to you. You've probably seen RSS in action before without even knowing it. For example, let's say that there are some blogs you read regularly, either those of your friends or those whom you follow in your industry. Take a look at them. If there's a small orange dot with two orange lines surrounding it nearby, that means that a blog has an RSS-feed available. What an RSS feed does for blogs and other materials or content like it is that you can have it delivered to you instead of having to go to the site to check for content updates. And if you have continual product or content updates, you can use RSS feed to your advantage, too. It's helpful to you in your daily life, too. For example, if you're busy and you can't always get to the sites are news you want to check out, an RSS-feed can delivered to you on one site and you can just sit back, and let the information come to you. If you want to create your own RSS-feed of your own material, there are a lot of ways you can do it. One of the best ways is to create a blog. Most if not all blogs will let you produce a feed that other people can then subscribe to. This makes you a lot more accessible to people who want to follow your content, and it gives you a much easier to access audience. If you have information you want to get out to people, and you want to make sure people are paying attention to you, an RSS feed may just be the way to go.
