Money and Happiness and Financial FreedomWe have all learned that money and happiness do not go together. How many times have you heard:
Well I am here to tell you that money and happiness do go together. Our society today has trained us that it is great to have skills such as being a master chess player, an Olympic gold medalist, a piano virtuoso, etc. These skills go unchalleneged by those that cannot swim as fast as the gold medalist, cannot carry a tune like the pianist, or even win a game of chess against the chess master. Unfortunately, once someone learns the skill of how to earn and accumulate wealth, everyone goes up in arms. You don't think so? How many times have you heard this?
These are just a few. I'm sure you could add more. If you want to get the truth behind what it takes to be financially successful, Financial Freedom Informant highly recommends that you read Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids About Money--That the Poor and the Middle Class Do Not! Once you read through this book, you will understand why the "Poor Dad's" mentally is to believe sayings as those listed above. I want you to get it in your head that indeed, money and happiness go hand in hand. Why do money and happiness go together so well? Let me ask you to do a little exercise. Get out a piece of paper and write out what you would do if you had an extra $10,000 a year. What would that allow you to do? Have a more comfortable living situation? Get the brakes fixed on your car? Buy your children much needed clothes for school? Now imagine that you have an extra $50,000 a year. What would that allow you to do with your life? Would you quit your job? Work part-time to spend more time with your children? Travel more? Buy the new car you always wanted? If you had more time, what would you do with that time? Take violin lessons? Learn photography? Volunteer or teach? Now some of these things such as cars and houses are material things, but don't you think that spending more time with your children would bring you happiness? Don't you think not slaving in a job you hate for 40 hours a week would make you happy? You bet it would!
