Creating a free website sounds like a good idea doesn't it? Why pay a monthly fee when you can get something for absolutely free. The answer is: You get what you pay for.

When I first started building websites, I thought creating a free website was the perfect solution. I was in college, I was broke, what more could I ask for? The problem with free website hosting is:

The servers are not always reliable

You have limited space

Some hosts limit the number of pages you can build

The search engines do not rank them well

You do not have a branded site or e-mail address

They build in pop-up ads and their own advertisers

They have little to no customer support

They may not be free forever

Sounds a little too risky to wager on especially if you are trying to build a profitable website. Also, would you rather visit www.geocities.com/ma/websitename.com or www.websitename.com? You like the second name because the first one screams free website. On the web, it's all about impressions and people give more credit to sites that are paid for than those creating a free website.

I really recommend that you look into good web hosting for your site.

Registering with a reputable hosting provider allows you to:

Have a reliable server

Have plenty of space for images, video, music, etc.

Have no limit on number pages

Be loved by the search engines

Obtain a brand site with e-mail address (email@yourdomainname.com)

They build in pop-up ads and their own advertisers

Have excellent support

Better flexibility and design

Not have to worry about mysterious deletion of removal
