How To Beat Spam Filtersby Samo YanezicAs an Internet marketer, it is important to beat spam filters if you want to make sure to get your message out. Trying to do this can be frustrating. However, once you put a lot of work into researching and writing an article or carefully composing a newsletter, it is important to make sure that you take a few extra minutes to make sure that your work is seen by its intended audience. The reason this is so important is that in the past, you could make a lot of money from the sales that a newsletter would generate but today spam-blockers are placing even those requested opt-in emails and newsletters into spam boxes where they are not even seen. A lot of responsible marketers are now asking themselves how they can work to beat spam filters and make ensure that their customer receives their intended message. They are working hard to increase the chances of their email newsletters making it through these spam filters and through ISPs that are blocking their content. The reason why you must also concern yourself with ISPs today is that some of them are also acting irresponsibly whenever it comes to delivering your email. These companies do not care if or how they hurt small businesses. For instance, HotMail actually filters email that is sent by legitimate businesses that are not even spamming anyone. As if this was not bad enough, HotMail doesn't even send you an email to let you know that your legitimate email has been trashed. Thankfully, such ISPs are few and far between. Instead, what is more common is for ISPs to have whitelisting procedures that work quite well. Regardless of what ISP you are sending mail to, it is still quite difficult to guarantee that your newsletter is going to make it into a person's hands so that it can be read. There are definitely some things that you can do in order to increase this likelihood though. First, you may choose to try to fool spam filters. While this is only part of the answer, the second and better thing that you can try doing is educating your customers and subscribers. Herein you will want to let your customers and subscribers know who is to blame for the fact that they are not receiving your mailings. Instead of allowing the spam filters to make you mad, now is the time when you should begin fighting back and working to beat spam filters to ensure that people are getting the legitimate mailings that you are sending their way. Of course, you may find that it is possible to fool spam filters today by doing such things as adding a note reminding your recipients that they signed up for this newsletter; using both capital and small letters in your headings; and removing words and phrases that might set off the spam filter. However, your time would be better spent fighting back against such filters and joining in such campaigns as the "I'm Mad As Hell And Not Going To Take It Any More" Campaign, which is being hosted by the President of SiteSell, Dr Ken Evoy. Either way, it is time that you stand up for your right to do business online via opt-in email marketing.
